Derek Costella Scores another Win for the BBR/Monster Energy Team
Del Mar, CA – (June 25th 2007) BBR/Monster Factory Rider, Derek
Costella, continued his win streak with a victory in the 12” Expert
class, at the Del Mar Mini SX. Derek got a great start with the holeshot
and then traded positions with Tyson Burmeister on the first lap.
Costella marked Burmeister, staying on his wheel, until the time was
right and then made his move. Derek carried big momentum into the burly
whoops section, stayed on the gas, and roared by Burmeister to take over
the lead. The aggressive move was enough to open a gap which Burmiester
was not able to close. Costella rode very cleanly with no mistakes in
the remaining laps and ended his day on top of the podium, making it two
consecutive wins in the 12” class this season. Tyson Burmeister finished
the race in second place and Ryan Beat was the next across the line in
3rd.
“The whoops were pretty deep this year and I knew my BBR Perimeter
frame would give me an advantage there, so I hit it hard and blew by him
on that section. Once I got a gap I just got into a groove and rode
smooth.” -Derek Costella, BBR/Monster Energy Factory Rider
Derek has proven again just how potent he is on his BBR Perimeter frame
KLX110. He had a major win last month in Las Vegas where he cut the
fastest lap times and won the MiniMoto SX 12” main event for the second
year in a row. Derek always puts on a great show for the crowd and the
Del Mar spectators were treated to a great show.
Look for Derek Costella and other BBR/Monster Factory Riders at the
upcoming Mini SX and MX races.
